The Debates! - Les débats!

Third and fourth days of the campaign and the debates have begun! My opponent stated at the debates that implementation of green initiatives are too expensive and should not be done. Reality could not be further from the truth! His argument is the age old fallacy that gets trotted out anytime someone wants to debunk green programs and initiatives.

In fact right now, the University of BC has a counter on it’s website that shows how much they will save on resources and money by instituting green initiatives campus wide! The best part about these savings is that they are shared. I will work to develop a shared savings program with our university as well. Check out their energy and resource savings counter at www.sustain.ubc.ca -- let’s work together to support a better environmental outlook for our campus.

My opponent also thinks that imposing loans on clubs will help them offer better events and increase student spirit. I, and many other clubs obviously disagree; where I want to increase student spirit by increasing club funding through the use of our business growth, my opponent wants to constrain and create debt for them. This is unacceptable-The SFUO is not a bank! The only incentive the SFUO should need to support and promote clubs is that they foster a sense of community by increasing participation and student spirit—NO STRINGS ATTACHED!

Don’t forget the protest against the rising costs of tuition is set for February 7th at Morriset Terrace (11am).

Nous voilà au troisième et quatrième jours de notre campagne et le début des débats ! Mon adversaire nous a révélé qu’il croit que nos initiatives environnementales seront trop cher et donc ne devra pas même pas être tenté. Mais en réalité, ceci est complètement faux ! Son argument plutôt est le même argument historique et daté pour contré n'importe quelle tentation en faveur d’un progrès environnementale.

Mais les faits nous justifient ! Il ne faut que regarder l’exemple de l’Université de la C-B qui a établie sur leur site internet des preuves irrévocables d’un épargnent de ressources sur le campus en entier ! Donc, je vais travailler pour établir un programme qui effectuera un partage de millions de dollars sauvé entre l’université et la FÉUO. Visitez le site web www.sustain.ubc.ca pour voir combien de millions de dollars ils ont sauvé!

De plus, mon adversaire veut exiger des prêts aux associations étudiantes (clubs). Nous sommes complètement en désaccords, car je crois plutôt à offrir un support financier pour lever l’esprit scolaire sans prêts et sans attaches. La FÉUO, est ici uniquement pour relever le moral et réaliser une atmosphère de participation et vivacité !

Dernièrement, n’oubliez pas de vous présenter sur la terrasse à Morrisset le 7 février contre l’augmentation des frais de scolarité.
